Safety Award
July 13, 2009

For the second year in a row, OnSite Construction, Inc. has achieved the silver level of the Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC) prestigious Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program.

We view this as a stepping stone in our safety achievement and will continue to utilize the STEP program as a gauge for our safety program.

Construction is an inherently dangerous vocation, but by combining our common-sense approach with our written safety and health plan, we are better able to provide a safer and more productive workplace.

From ABC website:

STEP was established in 1989 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety Committee to assist ABC member contractors in evaluating and improving corporate safety practices and recognize outstanding safety training efforts. STEP awards are presented annually in four categories: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each year, over 2,000 contractors of various sizes participate in the STEP program.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national association representing nearly 25,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms in 78 chapters across the United States. For more news and information, visit ABC’s website, www.abc.org.

Projects
July 7, 2009

The normally busy time for construction has finally begun. OnSite Construction is currently working on two projects of particular interest: the Bridgeville Public Library and the Seaford District Library. Although both projects have different general contractors, OnSite was awarded the site work and utilities for both projects.

The Bridgeville Library is rapidly coming to completion. The Library hopes to have a ribbon cutting in Mid-August. OnSite’s work is nearly complete; the final paving and fine grading are the only major items remaining.

Seaford District Library started later than the Bridgeville Library but it is progressing very rapidly. Our crews have been fine grading for the sidewalks, placing the stone base in the parking lot and beginning the process of grading the yard area for the past couple of weeks.

Both projects have gone extremely well and we were very fortunate to be able to work with such capable general contractors on both of these projects.
